WOMEN'S GOLF GARNERS RUNNER-UP HONORS AT NORTHWOOD INVITE

Seniors Alison Meyer (Duluth, Minn./Central) and Raquel Hansen (West Olive/Grand Haven) both recorded top-10 finishes to help lead the nationally eighth-ranked Ferris State women's golf team to a second-place finish at the Northwood Invitational (April 10-11) in Midland, Mich.
The Bulldogs turned in rounds of 321 and 304 to post a 625 team score on the par 72, 5,869-yard Currie West Golf Course. Ferris State placed 13 strokes in back of tourney champion Grand Valley State (612) in the seven-team tournament.
Alison Meyer posted a seven-over par 151 score (76-75=151) to take second place, which was seven strokes behind medalist Ashley Smith of Grand Valley State. Smith compiled an even-par 144-stroke total.
Raquel Hansen tied for sixth place after tallying a 154 (78-76=154, +10). Freshmen Blaize Baumgartner (Perry) shot a 160 (85-75=160, +16) to share ninth place while senior Meghan Hunter's (Dexter) 162-stroke total (84-78=162, +18) was good for 11th place.
Tying for 16th place was freshman Erin Fuchik (Tulsa, Okla./Bishop Kelley), who generated a 167 score (83-84=167) to round out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
Ferris State also had two players compete as individuals, which included freshman Brooke Rodes (Traverse City/West) placing 26th with a 174 score (88-86=174, +30). Frosh Breezy Bernth (Greenville) turned in a 181 (89-82=181, +37) to garner 32nd-place honors in a non-scoring capacity.
