Junior Alison Meyer (Duluth, Minn./Central) of the Ferris State University women's golf team has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association's (NGCA) Division II Women's Collegiate Golf All-America Honorable Mention Team for the 2007-08 season.

Meyer joins senior Becky Hoffman (Gaines/Swartz Creek) as Ferris State representatives on the NGCA Division II All-America Team. The two are among 11 individuals to receive honorable mention accolades as the Duramed FUTURES Tour NGCA Division II All-America Teams also consisted of a first and second team.

A 2007-08 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First-Team selection, Meyer registered a team second-best and a career-best 77.93 stroke average (2,338 total strokes) in 30 rounds this season. She produced 10 top-20 place performances, which included seven in the top 10. Meyer claimed or shared top team honors in three tournaments this campaign - Illinois Illini Classic (April 4-5), Ball State Cardinal Classic (April 13-14), and at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships (May 13-16) in Houston, Texas. Meyer posted a seventh-place tying 300-stroke total at the four-round national tournament as Ferris State placed fourth of eight participating teams with a 1,239 score. She tied for 13th place at the Illinois Illini Classic after recording a three-round 235 score and shared seventh-place honors at the Ball State Cardinal Classic as a result of firing a two-round 155.

Meyer, a two-time (2006-07 and 2007-08) all-conference first-team performer, currently ranks third on Ferris State's all-time strokes leaders list with a 79.00 stroke average (6,004 total strokes) in 76 rounds of competition. In her three-year (2005-08) career, Meyer has generated 23 top-20 place efforts with five occurring among the top five individuals.

Meyer was the individual medalist at the 2006-07 GLIAC Championships with a 12-over par 228 three-round stroke total and also was the 2006-07 team's recipient of the Bulldog Award, which is presented annually to a women's golf team student-athlete who displays dedication and hard work.

The NGCA, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The NGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. The NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the United States and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.

Meyer along with Hoffman each played a key role in leading nationally seventh-ranked Ferris State to its fifth straight national tournament appearance this spring as the Bulldogs finished fourth in the nation. In the 2006-07 season, the two helped FSU to a third-place showing at nationals.
