MCKINNON LEADS FERRIS TO NORTHWOOD INVITATIONAL TITLE
Ferris Senior Earns Tourney's Top Individual Medalist Honor

Senior Casey McKinnon carded a four-over-par 148 to earn top individual medalist honors at the Northwood Invitational (Sept. 29-30) while helping the Ferris State University women's golf team capture first-place honors.
The Bulldogs recorded a two-round 620-stroke total at the Currie Golf Course in Midland, Mich., with rounds of 307 and 313, respectively. Host Northwood took runner-up honors with a 641 score in the seven-team tourney field.
McKinnon turned in her best score this fall with a 148 total (71-77=148) to garner top honors and her score represented a tie for the eighth-best 36-hole total in school history. Junior Missy Ward fired a 154 (77-77=154, +10) to tie for second place.
Junior Becky Hoffman tallied a 157 (78-79=157, +13) to finish tied for seventh. Sophomore Meghan Hunter posted a 161 score (81-80=161, +17), which was good for ninth place and sophomore Alison Meyer shared 10th place as a result of firing a 163 (81-82=163, +19).
Sophomore Raquel Hansen competed as an individual and claimed a tie for fifth place with a 156 (76-80=156, +12). Senior Ashley Wolfe shot a 171 (85-86=171, +27) to earn 26th place and senior Sam Wideman had a 177 (92-85=177, +33) to attain 31st place.
The tournament title was the second for the Bulldogs this fall as Ferris won its own Ferris State Invitational (Sept. 2-3).
