The Bulldogs captured top team honors at its own Ferris State Invitational for the third consecutive year with a 615-team score.
The Ferris State women's golf team managed to duplicate a feat which has been accomplished the previous two years as the Bulldogs won their own Ferris State Invitational (Sept. 2-3) for the third consecutive season by recording a first-place 615 two-round score (305-310--615, +39).

Ferris, the two-time (2004-05) defending FSU Invitational champions, fired a 310 score in Sunday's (Sept. 3) final round after posting a 305-stroke total in Sautrday's (Sept. 2) opening-round play at the par 72, 5,977-yard Kate Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. The Bulldogs' 615 team score matched their output from a season ago in the 36-hole event.

FSU placed six strokes in front of second-place Indianapolis (621, +45) while Grand Valley State took third at 622 (+46) and DePauw (625, +49) claimed fourth place. Rounding out the top five in the 20-team tourney field was Southern Indiana (636, +60).

Junior Missy Ward was the Bulldogs' top finisher as she tallied a 150 (75-75--150, +6) to claim runner-up honors, three strokes in back of tourney medalist Kristi Piepenbrink of Indianapolis. Piepenbrink notched a three-over-par 147 score.

Junior Becky Hoffman was among the top 10 with a seventh-place 154 (79-75--154, +10). Senior Casey McKinnon and Alison Meyer both tied for 13th place as a result of shooting 13-over-par 157 scores. McKinnon had rounds of 78 and 79 while Meyer registered scores of 75 and 82, respectively. Sophomore Meghan Hunter managed to tie two other golfers for 20th place as she carded a 158-stroke total (77-81--158, +14).

Senior Sam Wideman was the tourney's top non-scoring individual finisher as she had a 20th-place tying 158 score (76-82--158, +14). Sophomore Raquel Hansen fired a 161 (80-81--161, +17), which tied her for 28th-place honors. Junior Kaitlyn Hogan claimed a share of 42nd place by producing a 166 score (86-80--166, +22) and senior Ashley Wolfe had a 173 (89-84--173, +29) to tie for 60th place.
