The 2007-08 team's Most Valuable Player has placed among the top 10 individuals in eight tournaments this campaign, which includes four within the top five. Lilleboe was recognized as a co-winner of the GLIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week earlier this season (Sept. 24). He recorded a sixth-place tying 215 three-round stroke total at the 2008-09 GLIAC Championship Tournament (Oct. 5-6) in Bay City, Mich.
The Bulldogs' top golfer this season, Valley has generated a team-best 72.58 stroke average (1,887 total strokes) in 26 rounds this season. He has amassed seven finishes among the top 10 individuals this season, including six top-five place showings. Valley attained top individual medalist honors in two consecutive tournaments this spring - at the NCAA-II Great Lakes Region Tournament II-The Jewell (April 4-5) and at the Northwood Invitational (April 10-11). He paced the Bulldogs at the 2008-09 GLIAC Championships with a fourth-place tying 213 score as FSU took fifth place. The 2007-08 honorable mention all-league pick was chosen three times (Sept. 9 and April 8 & 16) this season as the GLIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week.
Lee earned all-conference plaudits for the first time in his career and is presently third on the squad with a 73.92 stroke average (1,922 total strokes) in 26 rounds of competition. Lee, who fired a three-round 221 score at the 2008-09 GLIAC Championships to tie for 16th place, has chalked up five top-20 place efforts this campaign with two being in the top five.
Wayne State's Steve Cuzzort was tabbed as the GLIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 season while Michael Schmitmeyer of Findlay garnered Freshman of the Year kudos. The GLIAC Coach of the Year Award went to Don Underwood of Grand Valley State.
The all-league men's golf selections are based upon a player's stroke average in his 10 best rounds in GLIAC play, which includes the three rounds of the GLIAC Championships. All ties were broken by total strokes in the GLIAC Championship Tournament.
Ferris State is presently listed 25th place in the most recent (April 22) edition of the 2008-09 Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
