Shelburne Turns In A Team-Leading Fourth-Place Tying Performance

The Ferris State men's golf team wrapped up its regular season Saturday (April 15) as the Bulldogs carded a final-round 285 score at the NCAA-II Great Lakes Region Tournament III to register a third-place showing in the final team results with a two-round 578-stroke total.
FSU, which shot a 293-stroke total in Friday's (April 14) opening round play at the Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh, Ind., finished three strokes in back of first-place Indianapolis (575) and two behind Grand Valley State (576) in the 19-team tourney field.
Derek Shelburne's 140 score (73-67--140) paced the Bulldogs while junior Kyle Mason fired a 147 (74-73--147) to tie for 30th place. Shelburne's fourth-place tying effort marked the second consecutive tourney in which the sophomore has paced the Bulldogs.
Junior Jeff Carlson turned in a 150-stroke total (76-74--150) to claim a share of 54th place while senior Derek Radley rounded out Ferris' scoring with a 63rd-place tying 152 score (75-77--152).
