FERRIS STATE ATHLETICS HONORS OUTSTANDING STUDENT-ATHLETES
Student-Athletes From Spring & Fall Honored At FSU Basketball Doubleheaders
The Ferris State University Athletics Department honored a number of student-athletes for their recent athletic and academic accomplishments in conjunction with two recent Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's and women's basketball doubleheaders against Michigan Tech (Feb. 12) and Saginaw Valley State (Feb. 19) at Ferris' Jim Wink Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
Student-athletes receiving special recognition were recognized at halftime and had their photos taken along with selected department members including FSU Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic, Associate Athletics Director Jon Coles and Carma Burcham, who serves as the department's Coordinator of Records & NCAA.
The student-athletes honored were from the spring and fall 2008 seasons and represented several athletics teams including softball, women's golf, men's golf, volleyball, football, women's tennis, men's and women's track/cross country and women's soccer.
Throughout the year, the FSU Athletics Department traditionally recognizes deserving student-athletes for their accomplishments at a number of selected events.
Below are photos of the student-athletes present for the awards ceremony broken down by sport. The photos are courtesy of local sports journalist Sandy Gholston. Two supportive FSU students were also honored by the department for their continued support of Bulldog Athletics.
