FSU Hockey Program to Participate in Relay for Life
Sept. 17, 2001
The 2001-02 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will be taking part in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, which will be held Sept. 22-23 at Mitchell Creek Park in Big Rapids.
The fundraising event will be start at 10 a.m. (EDT) on both Saturday and Sunday. All FSU hockey student-athletes, the coaching staff and support staff will be participating in the event.
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate surviorship and raise money for the American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, parks and take turns walking, jogging, or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
"Regretably, everyone knows someone who has had a bout with cancer," said FSU Head Coach Bob Daniels. "They have touched our lives in some way and each member of our program is entirely committed to be involved first-hand in this endeavor. We want to touch their lives as well."
For those wishing to make a financial contribution, please contact Bob Daniels at (231) 591-2884 or via electronic mail at danielsb@ferris.edu.
