FERRIS STATE BASKETBALL POSTER EARNS NATIONAL RECOGNITION
2005-06 Men's and Women's Basketball Poster Judged Fourth Best In The Nation
The 2005-06 Ferris State University men's and women's basketball poster was recently selected fourth overall nationally among 26 entries for Division B/C (NCAA Division II and III) by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Rob Bentley and Joe Gorby of the University's Athletics Communications Office along with Bill Bitzinger and Matt Yeoman of FSU Photographic Services were contributors to the poster.
The poster was printed by Big Rapids Printing-Kopy Korner and featured photos of FSU men's and women's basketball players along with a complete season schedule.
All varsity athletics posters submitted by NCAA Division II and III institutions were eligible for the contest regardless of sport. A three-member panel was assigned by the respective CoSIDA Publications Contest Coordinator.
Graceland College's (Iowa) football poster was judged “Best In The Nation” while the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) football poster took second place. Graceland's basketball poster was chosen third best while the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs' fall sports poster claimed fifth-place honors.
Citation certificates for the top three placings were presented in conjunction with the 2006 CoSIDA Workshop (July 2-5) in Nashville, Tenn.
This year marks the second consecutive year Ferris' men's and women's basketball poster has received national recognition as it was judged second-best among 29 entries in the 2004-05 CoSIDA Awards Competition. FSU's 2001 football poster previously placed third among 17 entries in Division B/C while the 2000 Bulldog football poster was selected fourth nationally among 19 entries for Division B.
