Gridiron Club To Hold Annual Spring Football Game Event

The Ferris State University Gridiron Club will be sponsoring its second annual Ferris State Gridiron Spring Tailgate Friday, April 26, at the Elks Club in Big Rapids following the conclusion of the 2002 Bulldog football team's spring game at Top Taggart Field on the FSU campus.

The tailgate reception, which is open to the public, is scheduled from 9 p.m.-12 a.m. (EDT) and a cash bar will be available. Dan Kirwin and Sound System III will provide music and the cost for the dance is free as part of member appreciation night. FSU Gridiron Club members and non-members alike are encouraged to bring their favorite tailgate snacks, which will be judged for "The Best FSU Tailgate Snack." Jeff Totten was the winner of last year's best tailgate snack.

Prior to the annual spring football contest, a pre-game open house reception will be held in the Wheeler Pavilion at Top Taggart Field from 5-6 p.m. (EDT) with complimentary refreshments and hors d'oeuvres to be served. The pre-game event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Opening kickoff for the 2002 spring gridiron game is set for 6 p.m. (EDT) at Top Taggart Field.

"I'm excited about my new appointment and enjoying this event with gridrion club members, non-members and football fans," said new FSU Gridiron Club President Jackie Warner. "I would like to encourage everyone to attend these fun-filled events and find out what numerous benefits there are of being a Ferris State Gridiron Club member."
