Ken Conlin -- Offensive Line/Recruiting Coordinator

Ken Conlin will enter his eighth season in 2007 as a part of the Ferris State football coaching staff.

Conlin is responsible for overseeing the offensive line while also serving as the program's recruiting coordinator.

Under his guidance, the Bulldogs have produced a 1,000-yard rusher in four of the last seven years. Andrew Terry (1,293 yards in 2004) is the most recent as the tailback also established a NCAA Division II single-game record last season with 410 yards rushing. Conlin also coached a pair of all-conference tackles in Justin Giordano (2002) and Matt McCoy (2003), who previously played for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). Last year (2006), offensive guard Bill Bourdlais picked up All-GLIAC First Team recognition.

Prior to FSU, Conlin spent three seasons (1997-99) as a graduate assistant coach at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.

Conlin spent three years coaching USD’s offensive linemen. In the 1999 season, the Coyotes registered a 4-7 overall record, including a 3-6 mark in the highly-competitive North Central Conference (NCC).

Conlin began his coaching career at his alma mater in 1997 upon conclusion of his playing career at USD. A four-year letterwinner (1992-96) under former head coach Dennis Creehan, Conlin was a two-year (1995-96) starting offensive center. In 1995, the Coyotes posted an 8-3 overall record (6-3 NCC) which represented their best season performance in more than a decade. A native of Robinsdale, Minn., Conlin attained conference honorable mention all-academic laurels in 1996. He received a bachelor of science degree in physical education from South Dakota in 1997 and earned a master of arts degree in physical education with an emphasis in athletic administration from USD in 1999.

In high school, Conlin was a two-year starter at offensive tackle for Osseo (Minn.) High School and garnered All-Lake Red Metro Conference accolades as a senior in 1992. He was a three-year (1990-92) participant in both football and basketball while competing two seasons (1990-91) in baseball.

The son of Bernie and Kathy Conlin of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Conlin is a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Conlin is married to the former Shawn Williams, daughter of FSU assistant coach Rick Williams. They have two children -- a daughter Riley, who was born in January 2003, and a son Kyle, who was born in November 2004, and the family in resides in Big Rapids.
