Media and Fans Alike Are Invited To Attend And Interact With The Bulldogs
The Ferris State University football program will hold its annual Media/Fans Picture Day Friday, Aug. 25, at Top Taggart Field on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich.
There is no admission charge and the general public is welcome to attend the event, which will begin around 1 p.m. (EDT). Regional media are encouraged to attend the event which will feature the availability of Ferris State football student-athletes and coaches for interviews.  | Senior tailback Shawn Grigg started in 10 contests last season and finished third among the Bulldogs' leading ground gainers. |
The Bulldog Football Media/Fans Picture Day provides an opportunity for local and statewide media outlets to interview various players and staff associated with the 2006 Ferris football team. Ferris State players and coaches will also be available to fans for autographs and photographs. The Bulldogs will play their final 2006 fall camp scrimmage later in the day from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (EDT) at Top Taggart Field. The public is also invited to attend free of charge.
Ferris State welcomes back 45 letterwinners, including 19 starters, from last season’s squad which went 3-8-0 overall and plaed tied for eighth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) at 3-7-0. The Bulldogs are coached by Jeff Pierce, who starts his 12th year at Ferris this fall and is the program's all-time winningest coach with a 69-52-0 (.570) career coaching record.
The Bulldogs kickoff the 2006 11-game gridiron campaign and their 99th season of varsity competition Saturday, Sept. 2, versus the Kentucky State University Thorobreds in a 1 p.m. (EDT) non-conference matchup at KSU's Alumni Stadium in Frankfort, Ky. Ferris continues action on the road the following Saturday, Sept. 9, against the Mercyhurst College Lakers in the GLIAC opener for the Bulldogs. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. (EDT) at MC's Louis J. Tullio Field in Erie, Pa. FSU then opens the home portion of its 2006 slate Saturday, Sept. 16, as the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals visit Top Taggart Field in a 7 p.m. (EDT) conference encounter at Big Rapids.
