Media and Fans Alike Invited To Attend And Interact With The Bulldogs

The Ferris State University football program will conduct its annual Media/Photo Day Friday, Aug. 20 at Top Taggart Field on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich.

There is no admission charge and public is invited to attend the event, which begins at 1 p.m. (EDT).

Media/Photo Day provides an opportunity for the local and statewide media outlets to interview all student-athletes associated with the 2004 Bulldog football team along with members of the FSU coaching staff. Ferris State players and coaches will also be available for autographs and pictures.

Ferris State welcomes back 38 letterwinners, including 14 starters, from last season’s squad which posted a 6-5 overall record and placed tied for fourth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) standings with a 5-5 league mark.

Head coach Jeff Pierce embarks on his 10th year at Ferris State and is one victory away from becoming the school’s all-time winningest coach. Pierce has compiled a 60-39 mark (.606 winning pct.) in nine years at FSU.

The Bulldogs kickoff their the 2004 gridiron campaign and their 96th season of varsity competition on Saturday, Aug. 28, versus the defending two-time (2002-03) NCAA Division II National Champion Grand Valley State Lakers. A 7 p.m. (EDT) start time is slated for the season opener at Top Taggart Field. FSU’s 11-game regular season schedule also features an Oct. 9 non-conference encounter at 2003 NCAA-II National Champion runner-up North Dakota and the regular-season finale (Nov. 6) against 2003 GLIAC Champion Saginaw Valley State. The annual Hall of Fame game (Oct. 2) versus Findlay and the Homecoming contest (Oct. 23) against Michigan Tech are other 2004 schedule highlights.
