Media day provides an opportunity for the local and statewide media outlets to interview all members of the Ferris State coaching staff and the Bulldog football student-athletes.

Ferris State returns 39 letterwinners and 16 starters from last season's team which compiled a 5-5 overall record and placed sixth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with a 4-5 conference mark. FSU was recently selected to place fifth in the 2003 GLIAC Football Coaches Preseason Poll.

The Bulldogs kickoff their 2003 campaign with consecutive road outings, taking on the Hillsdale College Chargers in non-conference play Saturday, Sept. 6, before beginning GLIAC play against the 2002 NCAA Division II National Champion Grand Valley State University Lakers Saturday, Sept. 13. Both outings are slated for 7 p.m. (EDT) starts.

FSU's home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 20, versus the Northern Michigan University Wildcats with a 7 p.m. (EDT) kickoff at Top Taggart Field. The conference encounter will also serve as Ferris' annual Hall of Fame contest.
