BULLDOG FOOTBALL TO HOST 21ST ANNUAL “LIFT-A-THON”

The Ferris State University football program in conjunction with the FSU Gridiron Club will hold their 21st annual Bulldog “Lift-A-Thon” fundraising event Friday, March 28, at Jim Wink Arena, located in the Robert L. Ewigleben (pronounced A-VAH-glave-in) Sports Complex on the FSU campus.

The Bulldog Lift-A-Thon, which begins at 7 p.m. (EST) and is open to the public, serves as a major fundraiser for the football program. The funds raised will be used to maintain the essential elements necessary to operate a competitive NCAA Division II football program, including maintaining current scholarships, recruitment of new student-athletes, improvement of weight training facilities, and assistance in the financing of spring camp and early fall practice.

Carter’s Food Center will sponsor a post Lift-A-Thon event picnic for those individuals in attendance.

The Lift-A-Thon, which began in 1982, will be operating under the FSU Gridiron Club and every dollar contributed to the Lift-A-Thon will go to the Bulldog football program through the Gridiron Club. Furthermore, Lift-A-Thon donations of at least $25 will qualify an individual for Gridiron Club membership benefits.

Participants will compete in the bench press. Pledges can be made on a per-pound basis, based on how much weight a competitor can successfully bench press, or on a flat dollar rate donation.

For more information on the Bulldog Lift-A-Thon, please contact FSU football assistant coach Matt McCarthy at (231) 591-2865 or 591-2860.
