FERRIS STATE-GRAND VALLEY FOOTBALL TICKETS NOW ON SALE

FSU Gridiron Club Function To Be Held Prior To The Game

AnchorBoneTrophy
The Anchor Bone Trophy, which is sponsored by Huntington Bank, will be presented annually to the winner of the Ferris State-Grand Valley State football game.
Tickets for the Ferris State football team’s contest versus archrival Grand Valley State University Saturday, Sept. 13, are presently on sale and fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible due to public demand.

The contest, which represents the 2003 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener for both teams, will be held at the 6,344-seat Arend D. Lubbers Stadium in Allendale, Mich. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (EDT) and an anticipated crowd in excess of 10,000 is expected to view the contest.

FSU Football fans who wish to sit in sections 8 and 9, which are located directly behind the Bulldog football team bench, must purchase their tickets in advance to guarantee a reserved seat in those particular sections. Game tickets may be purchased by contacting TicketsPlus at 1-800-585-3737 or online at www.ticketsplus.net. Fans can also buy tickets at your local Meijer-TicketsPlus outlet. Reserved tickets for sections 8 and 9 are $10 for adults and $8 for kids and senior citizens 55 years or older. Sections 7 and 10, which are also located on the Ferris State side of the stadium, are $9 for adults and $7 for kids.

Prior to the game, the Ferris State Gridiron Club and the FSU Alumni Association will be co-sponsoring a tailgate reception at Lot C West, which is located on Stadium Drive immediately east of Lubbers Stadium. The event, which will start at 4 p.m. (EDT), is free of charge and all Bulldog fans and supporters are invited to attend.

The winner of the contest will be presented with the Anchor Bone Trophy, which debuted last season and is sponsored by Huntington Bank. The traveling trophy currently belongs to Grand Valley State as a result of FSU’s cancellation of last season’s (Sept. 14) contest at Big Rapids.

This year’s game will represent the 32nd meeting between the two teams with GVSU holding an 8-7-0 series edge at Allendale. A season ago, Ferris finished 5-5 overall with a 4-5 GLIAC mark while Grand Valley State claimed its first-ever NCAA Division II National Championship title as the Lakers were 14-0 overall and 9-0 in the GLIAC.
