Ferris State University junior outside linebacker Kevin Myers (Midland) has been chosen as a honorable mention All-American by D2Football.com, the only national media source devoted entirely to promoting and covering Division II football.

Members of the 2003 D2Football.com All-America Team were selected by members of the D2Football.com staff. Throughout their extensive selection process, many of the football student-athletes across the nation were considered on the basis of statistics, individual accomplishments and team accomplishments. Twenty-six individuals that were tabbed as preseason All-Americans by D2Football.com were named to the postseason squad. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) featured 15 representatives, including a pair of first-team selections in Grand Valley State’s Keyonta Marshall (defensive tackle) and Scott Mackey (defensive back).

Myers, who attained D2Football.com All-Northeast Region First-Team accolades a few weeks ago, has been honored as a 2003 postseason All-American by both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and The Associated Press (AP). The 2003 All-GLIAC First-Team performer has also been chosen a first-team All-Northeast Region pick by both Daktronics, Inc. and Don Hansen’s Football Gazette.

The 5-11, 210-pound defender made 49 tackles as a freshman in 2001 and was recognized as the squad’s Outstanding Defensive Rookie.

In 31 career appearances at FSU to date, Myers has accumulated 302 tackles (174 solos) to rank 14th on the Bulldogs’ all-time leaders list while producing 16 career double-digit game tackle efforts.
