Feasel and Brewster Chosen GLIAC Players of the Week

Ferris State University senior defensive tackle Jason Feasel (Ceresco/Battle Creek Harper Creek) and freshman flanker Carlton Brewster (Grand Rapids/Creston) have been chosen this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for their performances in the Bulldogs' 24-3 conference victory over ninth-ranked Saginaw Valley State last Saturday (Oct. 26) at FSU's Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids.

Feasel posted a career-high tying nine tackles in the contest as the Bulldog defense forced five Cardinal turnovers and limited the nation's second-ranked offense to 80 yards rushing. The 6-4, 268-pound lineman presently ranks fourth on the team with 49 tackles, which includes a team-high eight sacks for minus 47 yards. He also has two fumble recoveries and two pass breakups apiece along with a team-leading 14 quarterback hurries as a starter in all seven games this season.

In 37 career outings to date, Feasel has compiled 128 tackles (70 solo) with 28 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for 120 yards. He also has notched 21 career sacks for 106 yards.

Brewster had five punt returns for a season-high 104 yards (20.8 yards per return) in the contest, highlighted by an 89-yard third-quarter touchdown return. He also had a 15-yard pass reception in the game.Carlton Brewster

This season in seven contests, Brewster has 21 punt returns for 240 yards (11.4 yards per return) and 12 kickoff returns for 218 yards (18.2 yards per return). The 5-11, 184-pound wideout currently ranks fifth among the team's top receivers with 17 catches for 176 yards and a touchdown.

Ferris State will put its three-game winning streak on the line this Saturday (Nov. 2)as the Bulldogs visit the University of Findlay Oilers in GLIAC action. Start time is 1 p.m. (EST) at UF's Donnell Stadium in Findlay, Ohio.
