Bulldog Of The Month Award Winners

November 2007 Honorees

Rachel Folcik - Women's Basketball Senior Powers, Mich./Carney-Nadeau Led the Bulldogs to a 4-1 overall record during the first month of the season by averaging 18.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest. She scored 20 points or more in four of the five contests, including 24 points and 11 rebounds versus Kentucky Wesleyan (11/24). Folcik shot 52.4% (33-63) from the field and sank 23-of-25 (.920) free throws. She also converted four-of-seven (.571) three-point tries. Additionally, she added 18 assists, six steals and three blocked shots. The senior captain led the Bulldogs in both scoring and rebounding in November. She was voted GLIAC North Division Player of the Week (11/26) for her performance in helping FSU to a 2-0 mark in its own GLIAC/GLVC Challenge.

C.J. Van Wieren - Football Senior Holland, Mich./West Ottawa Led the Bulldogs to back-to-back wins in his final two collegiate contests during the month of November. The senior captain completed 29-of-54 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns while running for a team-best 278 yards on 45 carries (6.2 avg.) and three additional scores in the two games. He ran for 148 yards and two TD's and passed for 238 yards and three scores in FSU's 48-41 overtime home win over Northwood (11/3) at Top Taggart Field. He concluded his career with 130 rushing yards and 120 passing yards in the Bulldogs' 17-13 season-ending road triumph over Wayne State (11/10). Van Wieren averaged 318 yards of total offense in the two games while completing 53.7% of his passes.
