BIG RAPIDS – Maybe there was something in the air, maybe it was just the football or perhaps it was the fantastic weather conditions weather.

Or, maybe it was a little bit of everything as fans arrived at Top Taggart Field for the annual Crimson and Gold Spring Game Friday night. The good-sized crowd was comprised of a blend of loyal supporters of Bulldog football, parents traveling to Big Rapids, fellow student-athletes and so many others.

The fans who arrived saw a strong offensive effort by the White team as it scored a 40-23 victory over the Crimson squad at Top Taggart Field.

“It was really good to see the crowd we had in the stadium,” Ferris head coach Jeff Pierce as he looked around Top Taggart Field as fans started to come down to the stadium turf to meet with players and coaches following the game. “I’ve been here coaching for a lot of years and this is probably the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen (for a Crimson and Gold Spring Game).”

As part of the atmosphere, the Gridiron Club hosted a nice pregame reception in Wheeler Pavilion for fans of Bulldog football.

Once the game started, however, fans were more than eager to leave Wheeler Pavilion for the bleachers to enjoy the football game in the superb weather conditions.
