BLOG 50: Men’s basketball adds a great athlete and scorer

By Sandy Gholston

Men's Basketball BIG RAPIDS – Ferris head coach Bill Sall has had some luck in recent years recruiting in Detroit, and he hopes that good luck continues.

Ferris has added another strong athlete on the wing with the recruitment of Detroit Renaissance High School prep forward Daniel Sutherlin, a 6-foot-4 athletic wing player capable of making some things happen on the hardwood.

Sutherlin made quite an impression on the FSU coaching staff and on peers in the Detroit Public School League as he averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs are hopeful Sutherlin will bring that scoring and transition offensive ability to the college level. They also are hopeful his strong rebounding numbers will translate well against the physical play in Division II and in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
