BIG RAPIDS – When you throw for 404 passing yards, complete 26-of-41 passes and toss four touchdown passes, odds are you’re going to receive some accolades.
That was precisely what junior Kyle Parrish did as he came in off the bench, following an injury to starter Tom Schneider, and sparked the Bulldogs to a 31-24 win over Indianapolis last weekend at Key Stadium in Indiana. The Garden Grove, Calif. native, who started his college playing career at Compton Junior College, was just happy to have an opportunity to make a contribution to his team. His contribution led to him being named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
“It definitely felt good for me to be able to come in and contribute like that,” Parrish said after sparking the Bulldogs to the win. “The thing that really helps is I have great guys around me doing the blocking and we have some great receivers who made some big plays. It was definitely a team effort.”
It is just one step for a Ferris team taking aim at bigger and better things at this late stage of the season to build on the squad’s 5-2 record.
This weekend, the Bulldogs are home to face Wayne State. Kickoff for the Homecoming weekend contest is slated for 2 p.m. from Top Taggart Field.
