BIG RAPIDS – Another class is set to officially be inducted into the Bulldog Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend at Ferris.
This year’s class includes former football coach Keith Otterbein, who coached from 1984-94; Clarence Carlisle, who played basketball for the Bulldogs from 1969-73; Stephanie (Chaffin) Cleland; who was a volleyball and softball player from 1989-93; Jill Hirschinger, who was volleyball coach from 1984-95; Mary (Gnatkowski) Yearham, who played softball from 1982-85; and Tom Ludwig, who was the men’s basketball coach from 1979-96.
“This class continues our success of honoring individuals that have been cornerstones of Ferris State Athletics history,” FSU Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic remarked of a class highlighted by some of the most successful coaches in the history of Bulldog sports. “The former student-athletes being recognized had tremendously successful careers both individually and with their teams. In addition, the coaches chosen for induction had great careers at Ferris and positively influenced the lives of hundreds of student-athletes through their efforts.
“We are extremely proud to add all of these inductees to our prestigious Hall of Fame roster.”
