BLOG 29: This is not the first meeting of the rivals as undefeated teams

BIG RAPIDS – Saturday night at 7 p.m., in Allendale, will mark the fourth time Ferris and Grand Valley have met when both football teams were ranked, nationally.

Thanks to the efforts of Ferris Assistant Director of Athletics Communications Rob Bentley and Grand Valley Sports Information Director Tim Nott – working in the spirit of cooperation – we have research to present the three previous meetings between the rivals when both were ranked nationally.

1993: No. 9 Ferris 17, No. 19 Grand Valley 17
This game was played Oct. 16 at Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids.

1994: No. 9 Ferris 27, No. 14 Grand Valley 21
This game was played Oct. 1 at Lubbers Stadium in Allendale.

1995: No. 5 Ferris 30, No. 12 Grand Valley 21
This game was played Sept. 30 at Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids.
