Reinhart joins junior guard Erin Miller (Niles), who previously was honored Dec. 5, along with last week's (Jan. 16) recipient in junior forward Audrey Thwing (Davison) as Bulldog players to claim the honor this season. This week's selection represents the second time Reinhart has picked up the honor in her career as she was also chosen once (12/6/04) last campaign.
Reinhart averaged 13 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals as the Bulldogs won two league home games last weekend. The 5-5 Reinhart tallied a game and season-high 27 points in Saturday's (Jan. 21) 80-68 GLIAC win over Gannon while also dishing out eight assists and grabbing seven rebounds along with three steals. She totaled seven points and five assists in only 18 minutes of action as the Bulldogs dismantled Mercyhurst 72-47 Thursday (Jan. 19) in conference action.
In the two-game stretch, Reinhart netted 34 points, 13 assists, nine rebounds and four steals. She also connected on 14-of-25 (.560) field goal attempts and was perfect from the charity stripe in four attempts.
Reinhart, who was named FSU's 2003-04 Rookie of the Year Award winner, received second-team All-GLIAC North Division kudos for the Bulldogs despite missing the final eight games last season due to injury. She netted 308 points in 20 outings during the 2004-05 campaign. Reinhart also dished out a team-high 96 assists and tallied 36 steals along with 25 made three-point field goals en route to being selected as Ferris' co-Most Valuable Player Award receipient.
This season, Reinhart presently ranks as the squad's third-leading scorer (14.1 ppg) and has compiled both a team-best 96 assists in addition to 36 steals while starting all 18 contests.
Ferris State, which is presently 12-6 overall and 6-3 in GLIAC action this campaign, hits the road for five of its next six outings beginning with a pair of games in Ohio this weekend (Jan. 26 & 28). The trip opens Thursday, Jan. 26, as the Bulldogs visit Ashland for a 5:30 p.m. (EST) GLIAC encounter in Ashland, Ohio. FSU will then square off against Findlay Saturday, Jan. 28, in a 1 p.m. (EST) league tilt at Findlay, Ohio.
