The 1999-2000 Bulldogs recorded the first 20-win season in school history as they finished 22-7 overall and made their first NCAA Division II National Tournament appearance. Last year, Ferris State tied for first-place in the GLIAC North Division and reached the finals of the conference tournament for the first time.

Unbeaten At Wink Arena - The Bulldogs remained unbeaten at 10-0 at the new Jim Wink Arena with the win over Missouri-St. Louis. A year ago, Ferris State finished 9-0 in the first season in the 2,400-seat arena. The new arena replaced the Old Wink Arena, which housed the women's basketball team since the program began in 1974. Ferris State was 127-125 in Old Wink Arena over 24 years. Ferris State opened the new Jim Wink Arena on Dec. 2, 1999, with a 112-49 win over Westminster. In that game, the Bulldogs set a single-game scoring record. Wink Arena is named after legendary men's basketball coach Jim Wink. He won a team-record 326 games while coaching the men's program from 1959-81.

A Look Ahead - Ferris State will return home next week to open conference play against Findlay on Thursday (Nov. 30) at Wink Arena at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs will also face Ashland on Saturday (Dec. 2) at 1 p.m. Four of the next five Bulldog contests are at home after this weekend.

Kirkland was a second-team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) pick a year ago. Killips was named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team. Both players were also honored as GLIAC All-Tournament Team selections.
