FERRIS STATE ADVANCES TO GLIAC TOURNEY SEMIFINALS
Bulldogs To Face Findlay This Friday In League Final Four At GVSU
The Ferris State University men's basketball team advanced to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Semifinals for the second consecutive year with a 73-68 quarterfinal-round win over Northern Michigan Tuesday (Feb. 28) in FSU's Jim Wink Arena at Big Rapids, Mich.
The Bulldogs will next square off against the University of Findlay Friday, March 3, with tipoff set for 3 p.m. (EST) inside Grand Valley State's Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale, Mich.
Findlay is seeded second overall entering the semifinal round while FSU is seeded third. Host and top-seeded Grand Valley State will battle fourth-seeded Ashland in Friday's 8 p.m. (EST) nightcap. Saturday's (March 4) league tournament title game is set to begin at 8 p.m. (EST). GVSU will also host the women's final four the same two days.
Saturday's eventual tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Tournament slated for March 11-14 at a site to be determined. Eight teams, including six at-large squads, will participate in the regional with the official announcement set to be released late Sunday (March 5) evening.
