LEGUE HONORED AS INSIDE COLLEGE HOCKEY'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ferris State University men's ice hockey senior center Jeff Legue (Cornwall, Ontario) (pronounced La-gwee), this week's (Jan. 3) Central Collegiate Hockey Association's (CCHA) Offensive Player of the Week, has been selected as Inside College Hockey.com's (INCH) Player of the Week as announced by the INCH staff.

Legue received the national honor following his notable performance in Ferris State capturing the Badger Hockey Showdown Championship title for the second consecutive year. Runners-up for the weekly accolade included Brown's Adam D'Alba, Colton Fretter of Michigan State, Boston College's Matti Kaltiainen and Paul Stastny of Denver.

The 16th annual Badger Hockey Showdown's Most Valuable Player and an all-tournament team member, Legue totaled a combined three points (3-0--3) in the two-game tourney as Ferris State recorded non-league victories over Clarkson last Friday (12/31) and nationally fourth-ranked Wisconsin on Saturday (1/1), respectively. The 5-11, 170-pound forward scored a pair of goals, including the game winner, to go with a plus three rating in the championship contest as the Bulldogs claimed a 5-3 decision over host Wisconsin. In the Bulldogs' 4-1 semifinal-round win against Clarkson, Legue tallied a power-play goal and finished with a plus one rating.

This season, Legue has compiled a team-best 20 points (14-6--20) in 18 outings. He also leads the squad in goals (14) and plus-minus efficiency (+10). Legue's seven multiple-point game efforts this campaign is tops on the team and the 2002-03 All-CCHA Second-Team honoree has earned a point in 11 of his last 12 encounters to date while accumulating 17 points (13-4--17) during that span.

In 133 career games, Legue has registered 133 points on 57 goals with 76 assists. He has eight game-winning goals, six short-handed markers and 12 power-play lamplighters to go with 39 multi-point game efforts during his Bulldog playing career. Legue presently is 14th among the school's all-time leaders in points, tied for 14th place in career goals, and is tied for 16th in assists.

Ferris State is presently 8-10-2 overall with a 3-7-2 CCHA record. The Bulldogs are currently midst a season-high five-game (4-0-1) unbeaten streak and have won their last three to date.

The Bulldogs resume league play this weekend (Jan. 7-8) against the nationally-ranked Ohio State University Buckeyes in a two-game set at OSU's Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This Friday's (Jan. 7) contest begins at 8:05 p.m. (EST) and will be televised live by College Sports Television (CSTV). The two teams square off again this Saturday (Jan. 8) with a 7:35 p.m. (EST) opening faceoff scheduled.
