There are some great places on the Web that you can use. You can start locally or nationally.
- LOCALLY, LOOK UP THE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES AROUND YOU. All of them will have information about their degrees. Many of them have information that ties each degree to a specific career path. All colleges have an advising, testing, and/or counseling center where you can do assessments of several different kinds. You'll find some colleges even publish their catalog online.

This site connects you to the occupational informational network.
Occupational Outlook Handbook
This is the Granddaddy of all career sources, containing nationwide information on a wide variety of careers and occupations with a variety of educational requirements. Each profile lists what workers do on the job, working conditions, training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects. The OOH is revised every two years by the U.S. Department of Labor.
The Career Guide to Industries
Publishes information similar to the OOH, but does so by Industry. Discusses more than 42 industries, accounting for seven out of every 10 wage and salary jobs in the year 2000. Revised every two years.
The Occupational Outlook Quarterly Online
Contains up-to-date articles about new and emerging careers, trends, scholarships, and educational and training requirements. Published four times a year.
America's Career INFONET
This Web site states "Smart career decisions start here." Contains lots of career information and resources for you.
America's Career INFONET Video Library
FUN!! This site has career videos to view on-line for nearly 300 occupations.
Career InfoNet
A virtual Career Center information resource center.
National Career Development Association
Additional resources and information to assist in career planning.
