- Double click the My Computer icon
- Then, double click the Dial-up Networking folder
- Double click the Make New Connection icon
- Enter the name of the computer you are dialing. In this case, you should call it "Dial In Service". Then click the Next button
- Now enter the phone number to dial. The number is(231)-592-1040. Click the Next button
- Click the Finish button. You have just created a dial-up network. Now you need
to edit it's properties
- RIGHT CLICK on the Dial In Service icon in the dial-up networking window. Then click on the properties
option in the menu that appeared when you right clicked
- Click on the Server Type button
- Set the options in this window as shown below

Now click on the TCP/IP Settings button and make sure it appears exactly as shown below

Click the OK button for each open window until you return to the Dial-up Networking group
Double click on the Dial In Service icon to connect to the Internet. You will be asked to enter your user name and password. After this, click on the Connect button. When you get a message that you are connected, run your web browser
The previous steps were provided on the basis that Dial-Up Networking was installed on your computer when
Windows95 was installed. In most cases, this is true. If Dial-Up Networking was not installed on your computer,
click on the Internet icon on the desktop. This will start the Internet Setup Wizard and will step you through the process.
In most cases, you will be asked for your Windows95 setup CD or floppy disks. After completing the steps to set up
Dial-Up Networking, click on the Start button. Choose the Settings option, then click on Control Panel. In Control Panel,
double click on the Internet icon. Make sure the Use Auto Dial option is checked (see below). This will allow the dialer
to be brought up automatically when you start your browser.
