If you are using terminal emulation software, you will automatically see these messages on your workstation screen. If you are using PPP software, you will need to enable the "terminal window" option in your communications software in order to view these messages. In Windows 95, this is done by going into My Computer, right clicking on Dialup, then Properties, then Configure, then Options, then check Bring up terminal window after dialing box. (The option may be named "session window" or something similar.) Many software packages offer this option, but some do not. We recommend that you use software that allows you to display a terminal window, so you can track the progress of your dial-in session and use the message information when troubleshooting connection problems.
Explanations of messages you'll see when you dial in to the shared modems are provided in this section. If other messages are displayed, make careful note of them and report them to Telecommunications. We recommend that you always report problems to your own organization, that is, the organization that issued your Access ID, regardless of where you dial in.
Authentication failure
You have mistyped your Access ID or password. The "host:" prompt will appear again; carefully re-enter the hostname, your Access ID, and password. Even though your Access ID and password were entered correctly, you may still get this error occasionally. Please check your ID and password and try again.
Can't process request now, try again later
Currently there are too many pending authorization requests for the central or local RADIUS server to handle. Try again later.
File creation error. Please make a note of this message and report it immediately to your local help desk.
There is a problem with the file system on the Local Access Server that authenticated your session. Please make careful note of the message and forward the information to Telecommunications.
Improper 'userid@realm' specification
Your Access ID should be in the form userID@realm. You probably forgot to include the "@realm" information or mistyped it.
Invalid authentication realm, 'xyz'
The realm you specified in your Access ID is not known to the RADIUS servers. Check your spelling; if you still cannot connect, report the problem to Telecommunications.
Invalid login
This is probably the most common authorization message. If it appears immediately after you attempt to enter your Access ID and password, you may have mistyped your Access ID or password. If the message does not appear until 20 or 30 seconds after you enter your password, it probably indicates a problem with the RADIUS servers or the network-the connection between the NAS and a RADIUS server may be down, for example. In general, if anything goes wrong without a known reason, you will see this message.
No ports available for realm xyz
"Realm" in this message refers to the realm in the Access ID you provided. You have dialed into a hunt group whose modems are provided by a realm or organization other than yours. That organization's users have first priority for the modem pool, and most of the modems are currently busy. Try again later.
No token available
You need an available Simultaneous Access Token (SAT) to access the hunt group you have dialed into, but your organization does not have a token available at the moment. Try again later.

This session is limited to x hours y minutes
This message tells you how long you can keep your connection open after you successfully authenticate. After you've connected for x hours and y minutes, you will be disconnected without warning.
Too many simultaneous sessions
You are using an Access ID that limits the number of simultaneous dial- in sessions. Too many other users are currently using the same Access ID; try again later.
