Active Shooter Response, Preparedness, and Prevention
The Ferris Department of Public Safety has been working to educate the Ferris Community about Active Shooter Response, Preparedness, and Prevention through a presentation taught by police officers and emergency preparedness officials. President Eisler has directed that we make every effort to reach all faculty and staff to deliver this information. This may be presented during one large presentation or broken down into smaller groups to accommodate individual departments.
This presentation provides:
- An update of task force initiatives deriving from the Virginia Tech shootingsc
- Appropriate response and survival techniques for an active shooter situation
- Personal emergency preparedness information
- Campus emergency communication and procedure updates
When scheduling this presentation, please have the following information available:
- How much actual time is available
- The number of people in your group
- The departments that will be attending
- Preferred Date
- Preferred Time
- Location
A projector, computer and speakers will also need to be supplied for a DVD and PowerPoint presentation. Please note that audio is an important aspect of this training.
To schedule a presentation, please contact Tricia Walding-Smith at the Ferris Department of Public Safety by calling (231) 591-5000.
