Festival of the Arts Continues

BIG RAPIDS – Do you know what you’re doing at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 9? Join Ferris State University Languages and Literature professor Phillip Sterling at the Comstock House as he and other notable faculty lend their voices to A Celebration of Ferris Authors.

In honor of the university’s 125th anniversary celebration, Sterling and company will read selections of their work, both published and unpublished. Part of Festival of the Arts, the activity also coincides with Ferris’ 2010 Writers’ Week events. Other participating faculty include Physical Sciences professor Pasquale Di Raddo and assistant professor Mark Thompson; Languages and Literature professors Andy Kantar, Betty Stolarek, Robert von der Osten, associate professor Jon Taylor and instructor Sharon Robideaux; and Humanities professor Susan Morris, among others.

  Ferris Officials Report Increase in Spring Enrollment

BIG RAPIDS – Spring semester classes are underway and campus is bustling at Ferris State University, where officials are reporting enrollment figures remain healthy.

The fastest-growing public university in Michigan, Ferris officials report there are 13,151 students enrolled systemwide. With 464 more students attending classes in spring 2010 over 2009, this translates into a 3.5 percent enrollment increase systemwide.
