About Golliwog

example You might want to add to your history about Golliwog character that large Finnish candy producer Fazer recently took out the Golliwog type of character from one of their most famous liquorice sweets and changed the name from Laku-Pekka (when translated means same as golliwog) to more suitable Laku-Potko (liquorice bar). One of the main reasons was that this character was used by racist groups in their logos.

However another candy producer still uses a character very near to golliwog in some of its liquorice sweets. But Finnish (and Europeans in general) are in general more wary about the status of this character.

PS: I don't work for Fazer, got just bored and found your article and thought I could add a little detail.
