Mike Feutz, chapter advisor and an associate professor in Ferris’ College of Engineering Technology, was joined by chapter members in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii in March at the MCAA’s annual convention to receive the award. The award was presented by MCAA President Bob Armistead and Career Development Committee Chairman Brett Christiansen. During the same convention, Feutz was recognized as the 2010 Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Inc. Educator of the Year.

“It is gratifying to know that of 47 student chapters in the MCAA system, Ferris has been recognized as chapter of the year four times and myself as educator of the year twice,” Feutz said. “This is yet another indication of the excellent opportunities that students have come to enjoy at Ferris.”

The MCAA is pleased to continue to support the academic efforts of students.

“We are honored to support their drive and their talents,” Armistead said.

The MCAA serves approximately 2,500 firms involved in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, piping and mechanical service. The MCAA does this by providing its members with high-quality educational materials and programs to help them attain the highest level of managerial and technical expertise. The organization includes the Mechanical Service Contractors of America, the Plumbing Contractors of America, the Manufacturer/Supplier Council, the Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation, and the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau.
