Looking for a smart investment?
Ferris State University prides itself on continuing its founder's vision of providing an education to all of the people, all of the time. It is that premise that has allowed many students to pursue an education that prepared them with a real-world education. Ferris started its legacy retraining lumberjacks in the end of the lumber era and to this day continues to revolutionize its curriculum and programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry and economy.
The cost associated with obtaining an education rises steadily each year. Many students are simply not able to afford the cost of an education. More than 82 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid in order to attend Ferris. Currently, Ferris has only 70 scholarships funded by private philanthropy.
Why do people establish endowed scholarships?
There are many reasons why people choose to establish endowed scholarships. Many people want to show their gratefulness for the scholarship assistance they received and start one of their own. Many want to recognize a professor who encouraged them to imagine more. Others want to honor a close family member or friend and perpetuate the memory.
Smart people make smart choices. Giving to Ferris State University to establish an endowed, need-based scholarship is a smart investment. Your gift will keep on giving, for years to come. Your need-based endowed scholarship may be named as you wish. It may be designated for a student or students in a particular school, major or program of your choice. If you would like more information on creating a need-based, endowed scholarship, please contact the Advancement Office at (231) 591-3825 or send an e-mail to fsufdn@ferris.edu.
