Foundation hires new assistant

The Ferris Foundation Board of Directors has a new administrative assistant on board, Hersey resident Kim Erickson.

Erickson, formerly the alumni relations assistant for Ferris State University, assumed the role of administrative assistant to the Ferris Foundation on Nov. 21. Her duties include assisting the executive director with day-to-day functions and in the formulation of overall Foundation objectives, policies, plans and procedures by serving as liaison between the executive director, the Board of Directors and University administrators.

Erickson started working with University Advancement & Marketing in January 2001. "Over the years, Kim has excelled in her position and was ready to take on a new challenge. Her personality, coupled with her skills in event planning, meeting planning, and proven ability to work with many different constituents, made her an outstanding candidate for the position," said Rick Duffett, interim executive director of the Ferris Foundation.

"I am very excited to work with the Foundation Board of Directors, and I am looking forward to my new responsibilities," said Erickson. "I really enjoyed my job as alumni relations assistant, but felt I needed a greater challenge and sense of responsibility. This position will provide me that opportunity," she added.
