The Ferris Foundation would like to thank David Drake for his three years of service as board director and chair of the Foundation.

Drake spent his first year as a board director in 2000 and served twice as chair from 2002 to 2005.

“David’s dedication to the University, his commitment to the Foundation’s growth and his efforts to strengthen private philanthropy for the University have been immeasurable,” said Rick Duffett, interim executive director of the Foundation.

Drake is the account executive, partner for Universal Insurance Services, Inc., in Grand Rapids, Mich. He was the top agency producer for the last 10 years and was instrumental in the growth of the agency from $5M premium to over $40M. Previously, he worked at Fireman's Fund, Inc., as branch manager and USF&G as commercial lines underwriter.

Drake, a Vietnam veteran, graduated in 1976 from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. He is a member of the Egypt Valley Country Club in Ada, Mich. He is also a member of the University's Presidents Club Donor Society.
