Endowment established to support hockey players
Hockey players will have more to celebrate with a new scholarship opportunity
Hockey players at Ferris State University will soon benefit from the contributions made to the Gary L. Cousino Hockey Scholarship Endowment.
Once endowed, scholarships will be awarded to candidates in good academic standing who are dedicated to the success of the hockey program and who conduct themselves as ambassadors of the Ferris State University Hockey program on the ice, in the classroom and in their communities. Scholarship funds may be applied to costs related to attending the University including tuition, books and other education-related expenses.
"I've always credited my fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha and Ferris State University with helping me through my career," said Cousino. "Being partial to hockey and watching the Bulldog Hockey program grow over the years, I thought if I could help the program attain future success I would do it."
Head Hockey Coach Bob Daniels believes this scholarship will ensure that in the long term, there will be plenty of opportunities for young student-athletes to come to Ferris and will also enhance strength and stability of the program.
"The FSU Hockey program is very appreciative of the generosity that Gary has displayed with his gift," added Daniels.
