Hockey players at Ferris State University will soon benefit from the contributions made to the Ferris State University Blueline Club Hockey Scholarship Endowment.
"The Hockey scholarship endowment project is the most important off-ice activity undertaken by the Hockey program in the last 10 years," Blueline Club President Kevin Courtney said. "The endowment project will ensure the long-term financial health of Bulldog Hockey. I urge all Bulldog Hockey supporters to take a look at their own financial situation and giving plans and give serious thought to endowing a scholarship themselves. The Blueline Club is proud to endow a scholarship," he added.
Once endowed, scholarships will be awarded to candidates in good academic standing who are dedicated to the success of the hockey program and who conduct themselves as ambassadors of the Ferris State University Hockey program on the ice, in the classroom and in their communities. Scholarship funds may be applied to costs related to attending the University including tuition, books and other education-related expenses.
"Over the years the players and coaches have greatly appreciated all that the Blueline Club does to support our program," Hockey coach Bob Daniels said. "From sponsoring our end of the year banquet and welcome picnic to their financial support of the program on a yearly basis, their efforts are a blessing to the program.
"Now, with their pledge to endow a hockey scholarship, their assistance will aid future Ferris State Hockey teams and players," Daniels said. "On behalf of all the coaches, players and future players I would like to thank the Blueline Club for their generous support of the FSU hockey team."
