Benefits to the Strategies for YOUR
Educational Success Program
We have found that students who come to the "Strategies for YOUR Educational Success" benefit greatly. For the seventh consecutive semester, statistics show success for students who participate in 'Strategies.'
- Consistently, 60-80% of 'Strategies' students achieve cumulative GPA's of 2.00 or greater at the end of their semester of participation. Positive implications are:
- They can return to FSU.
- They are eligible to enter a program.
- They are eligible for Financial Aid.*
Even if you think that your vision is perfect or you already see an eye doctor, your attendance at the 15-minute vision screening is still a mandatory component of the "Strategies for YOUR Educational Success" program.
For the winter 2004 'Strategies' screening, 75 students were screened.
- Of those 75 students, 35 passed the vision screening and 40 students (53%) were recommended to the Michigan College of Optometry for further treatment.
- All students who needed more treatment were offered a free comprehensive eye examination and, if applicable, $90 towards a new prescription.**
To summarize again. Benefits include:
