1998 - The Developmental Programs and Curriculum Department (DPC) was established when University College was created. What had been the Student Development Services unit in the College of Arts and Sciences became the DPC Department that included reading faculty, developmental course offerings, coordination of the Structured Learning Assistance program, the FSUS seminar course coordination, Special Populations coordination, and University College admission activities.
- 2000 - DPC assumed orientation, registration and academic advising duties for University College.
- 2001 - Collegiate Skills program renamed University College program.
- 2002 - FSUS seminar course became mandatory for all FSU first time in any college students.
- 2002 - General Studies Program was initiated to serve students affected by the introduction of new admission standards.
- 2005 - Established the FSUS Most Outstanding Student Advocate award.
- 2006 - Created the Career Exploration Learning Community Program Career Exploration students were offered a learning community option with enrollment in English 150, CARE 102, and FSUS 100 classes.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Developmental Programs and Curriculum Department of University College is to provide a variety of services to students seeking to improve their academic readiness or to determine their career path.
