How to Build Your Course
Schedule
and Register for the Semester
Building your class schedule can now be completed completely online
using the tools available at MyFSU.
All you have to do is sit down at your computer with your check sheet
or transfer plan in hand and search for the courses that you need. Here
are step by step instructions that can help you.
What a printed copy of these instructions? Click
here.
- Go to myfsu.ferris.edu and
log in to the site. If you have forgotten how to log in, click on the Click
here for Student ID & Password link for step by step instructions.
- Once in the MyFSU portal site, click on the MyAcademics tab.
- In the center column, under "Quick Clicks", click on Student
Services Fall 2006. You may be asked for your user name
and password again as you enter the student web service system.
- Once you have entered the student web service site, click on the Student
and Financial Aid tab. You may want to check to see if you
have any holds on your record that would not permit you to register – do
this by following the Student Records link and then
click on the View Holds link. If you do have any
holds, contact the office listed or your regional office for assistance.
To get back to the main menu, click on the Student and Financial
Aid tab.
- Back at the main menu under Student and Financial Aid,
begin building and registering for your schedule by clicking the Registration link.
- Click on Look Up Classes, select the semester you
are registering for from the drop down and click on Submit.
You will then be able to identify your search parameters based on course,
subject, location, time, and others (instructions for this process
are on the top of that web page).
- Once you execute your search, review the results to find a class
you would like to add to your schedule, select the box in front of
the CRN (C identifies a closed class), and click on the Register button.
- If a selected course was not added to your schedule, the screen will
indicate the reason why (the class is full or temp closed; it has a
time conflict with another class; requires a department permit, the
prerequisite has not been met, etc.) To acquire a permit or verify
prerequisite requirements you should contact the appropriate departmental
office or your regional office for assistance.
- To see your current schedule or to remove a class from your schedule,
follow the Add or Drop Classes link from the Registration menu.
- To print a copy of your schedule, follow the Student Detail
Schedule link under the Registration heading.
As always, if you have any trouble registering for a course or just
have a question, we will welcome your phone call.
