This program is an excellent choice for students with a specialized associate 's degree, like business construction technology, legal assistance, retail fashion merchandising. It is also great for students with an associate's in business who would like to add technical or specialized training to their credentials.
The major in business administration professional track is designed to prepare individuals for the rapidly changing nature of the work environment in business, government and other nonprofit organizations. The program is designed to equip graduates for entry-level positions as well as advancement.
Building upon a core of business courses, the program features a tight sequence of major courses; however, the program also provides the flexibility to specialize in an area of for the student. Students with associate degrees in technical fields will find the program attractive for building a solid knowledge of business and management upon their technical expertise. The major is also valuable as preparation for law school, as well as for graduate studies in business.
Basic Admission Requirements:
To be admitted to this program you must have an associate’s degree with at least 24 semester credit hours of occupational specialty courses, and an overall GPA of 2.0 or better.
As you think about advancing in your criminal justice career, you may have
realized that having a master's degree would help you develop and enhance the
administration skills needed to move through the ranks of your agency.
In addition to giving you the skills and credentials needed for promotion,
the Ferris degree is also designed to meet the theoretical and analytical needs
of people who will be continuing on with doctoral or law studies.
As you move through the Criminal Justice Administration MS curriculum, you
will gain valuable knowledge through a set of core courses in areas such as
legal issues and the nature of crime; enhance your skills through criminal
justice research methods and criminal justice evaluation; and focus on administration
through leadership, budgeting, and personnel management courses. You will then
use what you have learned as you complete a culminating experience - either
a thesis or graduate topics and comprehensive critique/exam experience. The
