Grades - Incomplete
An "I" is a temporary grade indicating that a student
has successfully completed the major portion of a course. The student
should not re-register for the course. The "I" grade may be assigned
for illness or other necessary absence, generally beyond the control
of the student, which prevents completion of course requirements.
The "I" may not be given as a substitute or as a means of evading
a failing grade. Incomplete grades that are not made up within the
following semester are changed to grades of "F" by the Registrar
unless written authorization by the instructor requesting a time
extension is received by the Records Office. See Academic Affairs
Policy Letter 01:6, Requirements for a Grade of "Incomplete" (see
this document).
