Is Ferris State University accredited?
Yes, Ferris is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is certified
by the State Approval Agency of the Department of Education and
the Veterans Administration under provisions of Title 38, United
States Code.
How do I make an appointment with an advisor?
Academic advisors arrange off-campus advising sessions on a regular
basis and are also available by telephone. The Regional Center staff
can assist students with contacting their academic advisor.
How do I withdraw from a class?
A student may withdraw from a class without academic penalty during
the first 63% of a course. Students who officially withdraw
do not receive academic credit for the course and a grade of "W" is
assigned. Any student who wishes to withdraw from a single course
must contact the Regional Center to avoid receiving an "F" grade.
Any student wishing to completely withdrawal should refer to
the total withdrawal
procedure.
Do I need a student I.D. card?
All students enrolled in off-campus classes receive an ID card.
An off-campus student ID card is required to use FLITE (Ferris
Library for Instructional Technology and Education) on campus
or on-line, and may be necessary at certain off-campus sites.
There is a $25 fee for replacing a student ID card. Student
IDs will be mailed to new students at the beginning of each
semester. If they have not received one, they should contact
their regional office.
How do I find out if I am eligible for financial
aid or veterans' benefits, etc.?
Some off-campus students may be eligible for financial aid of various
types. Students in need of financial aid information should contact
their Regional Center or Ferris' Office of Scholarships and Financial
Aid directly at (231) 591-2110 or 800-433-7747. The forms and

What are Ferris's attendance policies
for off-campus students?
Student attendance policies should be based on the instructor's
judgment and approval. Students whose job duties or travel
assignments may interfere with class attendance should contact
the instructor ahead of time.
What student services do I have access
to? Can I use dining services, the library, or the computer
lab at the off-campus site?
Off-campus sites may provide some or all of these services
to Ferris off-campus students. Specific information for the
off-campus site, including student services and places to
