Ferris State University offers UA members the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) or Training in Business and Industry. The credits earned through your five year apprenticeship or the UA STAR exam are applied towards your earning of an associate degree at Washtenaw Community College. Once the AAS degree is earned, UA members can then transfer into bachelor of science degree programming at Ferris.
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR): Develop expertise in system and controls design, retrofitting, testing and adjusting, system balancing, and building operations with microcomputer controls.
Training in Business and Industry: Graduates possess strong basic academic skills, specialized technical skills, are able to communicate effectively, and are well-versed in instructional design, development, and instructional technology. The program does not lead to state, public school teacher certification.
