Welcome to Ferris State University's Plastics Engineering Technology!  The largest plastics program in the United States. The Ferris State University Plastics Program offers both an A.A.S. degree in Plastics Technology and a B.S in Plastics Engineering Technology. Graduates work in areas ranging from processing to product design, tool design, materials science, and program management. Plastics graduates are among the University's most heavily recruited as Ferris has Michigan's only B.S. in Plastics Engineering Technology. The average starting salary of graduates is $56,900 ('05-'06 school year). FSU Plastics Job Opportunities With media reports of plant closures and jobs moving overseas, some have the perception that careers in manufacturing are on the decline. The reality is that demand continues to remain very strong for engineers. The plastics industry is experiencing a shortage of qualified engineering graduates. At Ferris, demand is extremely high for the limited number of BS Plastics graduates each semester. Plastics graduates have historically benefited from 100% placement and continue to do so.
