Minor Degrees in Facility Management

Two minor degree options are available to students enrolled in other BS or higher level degrees at Ferris State University. These degree options help prepare non-technically oriented students to effectively participate in the facility planning & facility operation processes where they may be employed and for students who are entering professions where they may be required to manage a facility. This option is most appropriate for students in the Hotel Management, Music Industry Management, Resort Management, Recreation and Leisure Management, HVACR, and Allied Health programs.

Degree Requirements

  • A minimum of 18 semester credits of prescribed study.
  • GPA of 2.0 or more in minor degree courses.
  • 50% of credits must be 300+ level.
  • 50% of credits must be Ferris State University credits.
Admittance Requirements
  • Enrolled in a Baccalaureate or higher degree at Ferris State University other than Facility Management.
  • While Minor Degree curriculums require specific courses, it is the student's responsibility to obtain general technical knowledge of buildings and construction.

Facility Operations Management Minor
This minor degree is most suited for students who expect to be involved in the operations and management of the physical aspects of the facilities in which they practice.

Facility Planning Management Minor
This minor degree is most suited for students who expect to be involved in the planning and management of the physical aspects of the facilities in which they practice.
