Employers
Hiring the right staff is key to success in any business. Here at Ferris State we are proud to be educating some of the top entry-level professionals available to employers.
Ferris State PTM Internship Program
Since 1986, the Ferris State PTM program has been placing qualified students in internships throughout the country.
Why hire a Ferris State PTM student for your intern position?
Students in the PTM program complete internships for college credit and based upon employer evaluations and internship criteria will receive credit or no credit towards completing their degree. As a result of their work, many students receive full time job offers from the same clubs and organizations for which they intern. Students in the PTM program have chosen a career in the tennis industry and so have a vested interest in being successful while on internship and in their academic studies. Employers providing an internship opportunity become a valuable partner in educating and training the next generation of tennis and business professionals.
How does and employer secure an intern from the Ferris State PTM program?
Through our internship program employers must first submit an Internship Datasheet. The datasheet allows employers to detail out the roles and responsibilities of the available position and minimum qualifications necessary for the position. The data sheet also allows the PTM program to assist in qualifying students for available positions. Students must complete a minimum of 320 hours in order to meet internship requirements and receive credit for the internship.
Due to the high demand of PTM interns, submission of a datasheet does not guarantee applicants or interest in all submitted positions. We encourage employers to fill out the datasheet as completely as possible to ensure PTM students have all relevant information and can accurately evaluate the opportunities. The internship program at Ferris State is very competitive and students are presented with many opportunities each summer.
Upon submission of the datasheet, internship opportunities are then evaluated by the PTM Director and students are referred to those opportunities for which they are qualified. Employers can then interview and assess which candidates best meet their employment criteria. Finally, employers offering employment to PTM interns then finalize written employment agreements prior to the intern beginning work.

Full-Time Job Opportunities
Many employers in addition to offering internship opportunities, also have full-time job opportunities available for graduating students. Employers seeking a PTM graduate for full time employment can submit a Full-Time Job Opportunity Form.
All job opportunities are presented to graduating PTM students as well as forwarded to our database of graduates that are already in the industry and may be seeking new opportunities.
All interested applicants are then directed to apply for positions as outlined in the Full-Time Job Opportunity Form.
PTM Alumni seeking full time employees may also submit job postings exclusively through our PTM Alumni site. The PTM Alumni website may only be accessed by official members of the PTM alumni community.
